Well, if it makes you feel better I dropped the nut for the reverse band down there when I was finishing up my rebuild. Had to take the entire transmission section apart to get it out.

I bought some butter knives at the dollar store...

I bought some butter knives at the dollar store and tapped them into the gasket/seem. Be careful around the valves as they are pretty much the only thing that you can screw up unless you go at it...
