I rebuilt mine. I think if I can do it, anyone can. Mine finally runs on the bench great. The carb is pretty simple.

Thanks. I looked at the gasket on intakes after about attempt #3. it looked good. Haven't noticed new debris. I have found 3 jets, all were blocked. The worst was behind a 1/2 bolt. All seems clean...

I spaced the flywheel with 2 washers. All is well.
I think I got the reversing gear right. I'm not sure how tight to go on the nut with the holes in it.

The flywheelis the correct direction. It appears to have had washers between crank and flywheel because there are some wear marks that appear to be caused by washers.
Maybe I have the wrong bolts...

I checked out the tank. I pumped out 50% gas/water and some ugly debris. I'm working on taking it out but it is incapsulated in epoxy.
I will need to get a new tank.
