Main components affected by ethanol are the rubber parts. Gas lines should be changed to ethanol resistant. Like Dave said sitting fuel is main problem, so don't put more in the tank than you think...

Plan on clean fuel.

I would do Coil and damaged wire to confirm that is the issue. Then change all the other parts, so no confusion is added. Also would know what to throw away or keep as spares

+1 on Neil's suggestion. Clean and oil the weights and springs in distributor advance mechanism. I had your same symptoms for a year and was fixed immediately with a little work
