My exhaust is very similar to yours.
I agree with Neil that the loop at the top is a vented loop to prevent water siphoning back into the engine.
It works...

10.7 volts sound too low to me to turn over the starter motor.
You might just get a click when the relay engages.
Suggest you get a charger on the battery for a few...

We do have to admit that this past weekend, has been the coldest it has been for this winter. It was minus 27 C and windchill made it about minus 38.
Just a bit too cold for sailing.

Just to throw a monkey wrench in the proceedings, I have a Flamethrower coil that I got from Moyer, that when measured shows only 2.9 ohms across the - and + terminals. In fact the case...
