I have never had the problem with the heat distorting the cockpit floor, I know that the previous owner must of had the dry stack replaced... I have not had the need to touch...

The only thing that I offer is that you put a rag below the valve stems to catch any of the errant compound... the stuff is very abrasive and you do not want it migrating through the oil channels...
