Did the shop mention preserving the ignition proof features? Any mention of SAE J1171 standard? Marine shops are keenly aware but general automotive shops usually aren't.

Be sure you don't thread the studs too far into the accessory drive. There are moving gears in there and you don't want to engage them. Rather than oil you might consider Loctite.

Oh yes it can. The advance mechanism is completely independent from electronic ignition. Per John's advice, it should be checked and lubed as long as you're there.

I don't have an Indigo prop...
