Anyone have Rear Seal tools you'd like to rent?

I need to replace my rear oil seal. Anyone want to rent me some tools?

Output coupling holding tool (TOOL_07_136)
Output coupling puller (TOOL_06_135)
Output coupling installing tool (TOOL_08_137)

I hate to spend $150 on tools I'll use once. Still, cheaper than having someone come do it, I know...

But, I'm guessing someone has done this and has the tools lying around that they'll never use again.

Still looking for someone who might want to rent tools. I'm also looking for an electric impact wrench with a low profile.

Hello Rob.

I don't have the output coupling tools you're interested in, and my impact wrench is anything but 'low profile'.

But you are welcome to borrow other tools you may discover you need, including a stud remover, ring compressor, etc. Let me know if you're interested.

best regards,

jack

Hi Jack,

I very much appreciate that and will keep you in mind if those tasks arise. Thanks for the offer.

Hopefully, someone has done the rear seal job and bought the tools and would like to rent them.

Looks like I may have them soon so I'll have them for loan or rent...:)

Update:

So I've been dreading doing this real oil seal. I have no room to work and no way to get to the rear of the engine besides going over it and hanging over the back. I didn't think I even had room to get an impact wrench in the space to remove the bolts. I've just been dreading it. Plus, at 62, I'm just not as limber and spry as I used to be.

But, now that we can go on the water again, I have to suck it up and just do the job...lol... The squashed Folgers coffee can I have creatively hung below the drip is only good for 1.5 hours of motoring, and if I sail, healing will just spill it out unless I go empty it frequently. And getting to it to empty over a hot engine is nearly impossible.

Today I went down to just see if I could get one rear flange plate bolt off with normal tools. With a ratchet wrench I have room to make just two clicks of revolution. It's that tight. So, I put a 1' breaker bar and tugged. No go. Then I just tapped that bar with a 4lb. stubby hammer. It spun. "Wow," I thought.

I was able to get all 6 loosened and using an 18" pipe wrench, I got the 3 coupler bolts loose. I was flabbergasted to be honest.

But I ramble---the main reason I'm updating is that I'm still looking to rent the puller and presser tools from someone. I've been out of work since Covid started and don't have the cash to buy new ones. Short of making my own (which I think I might have to), I'd love to rent these as I'll likely never need them again.

Anyone, anyone? Anyone have the rear seal tools you want to rent me for a week?

For a chuckle, here's the room I have to work in.
