Hello everyone,
I recently purchased an Atomic 4 with a 1976 Catalina 27 #2713 wrapped around it.
As of now I am still removing and cleaning the interior in preparation to renovate.
The A4 is running, but does need cleaning, rewiring, and a tune-up in my opinion. Also the dash needs to be redone with some new gauges. The temp, amp, and pressure gauges that are there still work, but the temp gauge fogs over at times. Blower switch, choke, push button start, and key switch seem fine.
I will be heading to the boat today to remove the galley and possibly the old gas tank that can no longer be used. Plus reroute the bilge hose (too many turns).
I would be happy to share pics of this undertaking with anyone interested.

Welcome Aboard

I've owned a Cat27 since the early 1980s. Hull #4446. 1980 model built in 1979. Been more than a few rounds with it.

I've replaced\serviced\maintained all the "external" engine parts over the years. Such as distributor, water pump, fuel pump, carburetor, cooling system, so on. Never have had to do any fixing on the engine internals. (knock on wood)

I rewired and purchased new gauges.

A couple of suggestions:
Keep up with engine maintenance. If you treat your engine right it will treat you right. The Moyer manual is an excellent source of A4 information.
If the standing and running rigging was not surveyed before you bought the boat have a look at it yourself or have a rigger survey it.

Is your A4 a early or late model?

If you have any specific questions put up a post or send me a PM. If I don't know the answer someone in the forum will.

I believe it is a late model. The plan is to clean up, tune up, and rewire the engine. I was thinking of moving the dash to the side of the companionway under the compass. I can not see it under the starboard lazz. Is that odd?
