Hot spot on manifold.

I rebuilt my late-model A4 last year and its perfect paint job has revealed a problem: a hot spot at the forward lower corner of the (original single-ended) manifold, where the paint has baked and burnt away. What would cause this?

I highly recommend that the crew read the threads in the links posted above.

• For the newbies.... some very good info
• For the old salts... a really nice trip down memory lane.

One example... Thatch's (Tom) FIRST post on this forum!
Amazing. i thought he was always here with his wisdom.

Another... Neil is just starting to rise as a leader in the forum in these threads.
Since these posts, note all of the additional A4 improvements that have been authored from Neil!

We've come a long way.

Thanks Jerry, It's hard to believe that my first post was almost eight years ago. I guess it's true when they say, "Time files when you're having fun". I have learned a great deal about these tremendous engines over the years thanks to this great group called "The Afourians". If there is one predominant message that I feel is more important than all others, it would have to be that fresh water cooling these engines should be done as soon as possible.
