    repair water exhaust entry

While removing black iron exhaust elbow from the water inlet I developed a crack where in the inlet joins the larger tube. Is there any way to fill this long enough to make it through the next couple months. Moyer is sold out. Can I fill this with plumbing torch and some solder?

Wouldn't that be a good candidate for a little brazing?

Any competent welder can clean up the area, straighten the water inlet tube and build up (braze) it back to good shape. After the brazing is completed, it would be a good idea to run a drill bit through the tube to make sure that the brazing had not reduced it's internal size.

I have "brazed" far worse looking things. Really not a biggie.

If the "brazing" material builds up in the injection tube it can easily be drilled out.
