Fresh water pump leak question

Can the m502 moyer pump leak antifreeze if the gasket to the holding bolts is
missing, loose or defective?
Just want to know before rebuild needlessly

Thanks

there are seals that keep the liquid contained. The gasket is between the engine and the pump and keeps oil in the engine.

If there is antifreeze leaking out I assume the internal seal is leaking. Is the af leaking out the weep hole?

Thanks
That is what i suspected.
Apparently, the paper gasket is for oil not antifreeze.

I held a wadded paper towel over the rear portion of the pump
AND the leak stopped - which meant the impeller section was not
the source.
have orderd the rebuild kit yesterday
