That does not sound very far. Many Atomic Fours have done the ICW running from dawn to dusk for weeks.
I did it with no problems with the engine.
The longest single run has been 150 miles non stop.

That insulation I have pictured does not have foil backing. It is just woven fiberglass. (I think 2 inches wide) It stays together pretty well. After 10 years the exhaust failed and I made a new one....

A fun project would be to fabricate a manual fuel shut off valve that is operated by a bowden/choke cable from the cockpit. It might not be too hard to do. Probably one can be found with google.

When I got my boat it had a groco strainer like Neal pictured above. The hose barbs (1/2 inch NPT) were made to accept either 5/8 ID or 1/2 ID hose. The ID of the barb just fits a 1/4 inch drill bit....

Can also us the washdown hose to shoot thru the thru hull and try to clear the obstruction.

A grinder with a metal cut-off disc would work great. You can get an El Cheapo at harbor freight for well under 20 bucks. 4 or 4 1/2 inch model
