If the engine runs on starter fluid and the carburetor is clean I too would think its a fuel supply problem.
I have experienced the float valve needle sticking closed stopping fuel flow into the carburetor/float bowl . You should be able to blow into the carburetor through the main fuel inlet, if not the needle is stuck closed. Don's manual has a section on how to address the float valve seating surface.
