Thanks for the response! Perfect timing as I was planning on working out the logistics this weekend!
I'm in Seattle at Lake Union. I've got a lot of projects that need doing to get the engine ready for the summer, and working through those tiny access holes makes it tough...
I figure I'd want to start with the starboard quarter birth, as it seems the best place currently for access without clearing out the locker and crouching downin there...
I was hoping to expand the length of it a foot or two forward of its current position...

Hi LemonShark,
I widened the access in the starboard quarter berth by ALOT. Enough to get my head and both shoulders through. When working on the front of the engine, I will occassionally remove the engine room door. For the quarter berth, I made a new hatch cover exactly like the old one, but about twice as long.
The port sail locker could be expanded as well, but I usually work from the front or starboard because it is easier than climbing into the locker. Or empyting it LOL
I don't have a picture at the moment. Where are you located?
