I've written off the tone Bryan took toward me as venting frustration over the engine issue. It's clear I can't help him further, hopefully someone else can. Thanks for the note.

    Hi Bill,

That was some time ago. I had to think for a bit.

There's really no problem with locating a remote heat ex and the longer line will actually help cool the hot line to it.
I was probably remembering the old Saab 99 radiators that I worked on back in the eighties. The expansion tank cap was so low that the hose running to the cab heater core was actually higher than the opening of the radiator cap. this made for a troublesome time refilling the system after some maintenance chore. There was always a bubble of air that was very hard to purge in the heater ore. the coolant would not circulate over the bubble and the cabin would be cold. I live in Alaska, very important.
That's pretty much the only thing I can think of as a problem. Just consider how bubbles might get trapped in high loops and places and you'l be fine I think.

    Happy new year,

    Russ

Hi Joe, I am kind of guessing these are the Johnson pumps and the thermostat is this: http://www.atomic4.com/thermostat.htm

I have it - $500. One HX, two pumps, one Indigo thermostat, hoses, bronze fittings.
