The problem was had to pull the choke to run the engine. This started after a 2 hour motor through a still foggy night. In hindsight, I built up grit and caused issues. I have a 1974 Sabre 28 with a steel tank. First step was to change the main filter.
Having carb problems but I think they are worked out. Took in apart on the ball last night and found black grit around jets. The carb is old and tired and in my concern for a weekend sail (precious few here in ME) I ordered a referb one. I don't want to mess with a rebuild. I have a polishing filter and water/grit filter. Any thoughts what the black grit is? Thanks Tim
