Hello, I am a new member and have enjoyed reading the threads on this site. I have a transmission question. Sunday on returning to port we could not shift out of forward. A4 is controlled by an old single lever throttle/shifter lever with a neutral button. finally was able to jiggle it back into neutral before we did any damage... Any thoughts on it this is cable linkage or gearbox related and how to check and test before we go out again?
Thanks David, new Afourian

Hello all, I'm a new member, new owner of an A4 in a Southern Cross 28. I had a problem this weekend, single control lever (with neutral button) would not shift out of forward. After pull/push a number of times, it finally hit neutral. Does anyone have an idea if this would be linkage/cable or tranny related? Boat sat on hard for almost 2yrs before we put her in last week, engine starts fine, runs well. Yard put new SS shaft, cutlass bearing in two weeks ago...
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
